Pillars of Marriage
📜 Pillars of Marriage — The Foundations of a Valid Union
The Prophet ﷺ said:
"There is no marriage except with a guardian and two witnesses."
— [At-Tirmidhi and Ibn Majah]
📖 Introduction
📜 Scene: The Invalid Marriage
A community center, years later...
A woman came crying to the imam:
"We married without my father's knowledge. He refused, so we did it ourselves with two friends as witnesses..."
The imam asked: "Who conducted the marriage?"
She said: "Just us and our friends. Is that not enough?"
The imam said with sadness:
"Sister, without a guardian (wali), the majority of scholars say your marriage is invalid..."
She collapsed: "But we have children now!"
⚠️ Not knowing the pillars of marriage can lead to tragedy!
📜 Scene: The Proper Marriage
In a masjid...
The father said: "I give you my daughter in marriage according to the Book of Allah and the Sunnah of His Messenger."
The groom said: "I accept her in marriage according to the Book of Allah and the Sunnah of His Messenger."
Two trustworthy witnesses were present.
The imam said:
"The marriage is complete. May Allah bless you both."
🎯 Simple, clear, valid — this is the Islamic marriage!
