Morning Supplications

Morning Invocations

Allah the Almighty said: ﴿ And remember your Lord within yourself in humility and in fear without being apparent in speech - in the mornings and the evenings. And do not be among the heedless ﴾ [Al-A'rāf: 205]

📖 The Invocations in This Lesson

🤲 ① Invocation 1: Āyat al-Kursī (The Throne Verse)

📖 Reference: [Al-Baqarah: 255]

🔢 Repetitions: 🟢 Once (×1)

English Translation

« Allah! There is no deity worthy of worship except Him, the Ever-Living, the Sustainer of existence. Neither drowsiness overtakes Him nor sleep. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. Who is it that can intercede with Him except by His permission? He knows what is before them and what will be after them, and they encompass not a thing of His knowledge except for what He wills. His Kursī extends over the heavens and the earth, and their preservation tires Him not. And He is the Most High, the Most Great. »

🚫 Mistakes to Avoid

MistakeCorrection
❌ Reciting invocations hastily without contemplation✅ Recite slowly with presence of heart
❌ Reciting weak or fabricated invocations✅ Adhere only to authentic invocations
❌ Believing that invocations protect by themselves✅ Trust in Allah; invocations are a means
❌ Abandoning invocations due to not memorizing them✅ Read from a book or phone
❌ Reciting invocations in the bathroom✅ Invocations are said in a pure place
❌ Raising the voice with invocations disturbing others✅ Dhikr should be in a low voice

⚠️ Important Reminders

  1. No exaggeration: Do not add numbers not mentioned in the Sunnah
  2. Sincerity: Intention is for Allah alone, not for showing off
  3. Consistency: A little done regularly is better than a lot done sporadically
  4. Understanding: Contemplating the meanings of invocations is more important than mere utterance
