Abû Tâlib's heart softened, and he said: "By Allah, I will take him with me, and we shall never part!"
Scene 2: The Monk Comes Out
The caravan arrived at Busrâ in Syria...
There stood the hermitage of a monk named Bahîrâ (whose real name was Jirjîs/George)...

Scene 3: The Cloud
Bahîrâ saw something strange:
A cloud was shading the caravan wherever it went!
When they stopped under a tree, the tree bent down to shade the young boy!
Scene 4: The Invitation to Eat
Bahîrâ prepared food and invited the entire caravan...
They all came except the boy who had stayed to guard the luggage...

| What is your name? | Muhammad |
| Who is your father? | He died while I was in my mother's womb |
| Who raised you? | My grandfather 'Abdul-Muttalib, then my uncle Abû Tâlib |
Then he said: "I ask you by al-Lât and al-'Uzzâ..."
Muhammad interrupted: "Do not ask me by them! By Allah, I have never hated anything as much as I hate them!"
💡 He never prostrated to idols, never swore by them, never ate what was sacrificed to them!

"By Allah, if they see him and recognize in him what I have recognized, they will harm him!"
"Your nephew will have a great destiny!"
Abû Tâlib hurried back to Mecca.
