The Counsel of Salmân al-Fârisî
📜 Scene:
When the Prophet ﷺ learned of the massive coalition, he gathered his companions for consultation.
Salmân al-Fârisî رضي الله عنه stood and said:
"O Messenger of Allah, in Persia, when we were besieged, we would dig a trench around us."
The Prophet ﷺ appreciated the idea and said: "Excellent suggestion, O Salmân!"

⛏️ Miracles During the Digging
A Rock That Would Not Break
📜 Scene:
The companions were stopped by an enormous rock that pickaxes could not break.
The Prophet ﷺ came himself, took the pickaxe and said: "Bismillâh!"
At the first strike, sparks flew. He said: "Allâhu Akbar! The keys of Syria have been given to me. By Allah, I see its red palaces at this very moment!"
At the second strike, he said: "Allâhu Akbar! The keys of Persia have been given to me. By Allah, I see the white palace of al-Madâ'in!"
At the third strike, he said: "Allâhu Akbar! The keys of Yemen have been given to me!"
And the rock shattered!

The Prophet ﷺ Working with the Companions
📜 Scene:
The Prophet ﷺ was digging with his noble hands, a stone tied to his stomach from hunger.
Jâbir ibn 'Abdillâh saw him, ran home, slaughtered a small goat, and prepared food.
He invited the Prophet ﷺ secretly, but the Prophet ﷺ called out: "O people of the trench! Jâbir has prepared food for you, come!"
Jâbir panicked as the food was little! But the Prophet ﷺ blessed it, and a thousand men ate from it while the food remained intact!

He said: "O Ka'b, I bring you the glory of the ages! Ten thousand fighters—this is your chance to take revenge on Muhammad!"
Ka'b hesitated because he had a treaty with the Prophet ﷺ.
But Huyayy kept insisting until Ka'b broke the treaty!

The Moment of Distress
﴿ When they came at you from above you and from below you, when eyes grew wild and hearts reached the throats, and you were making assumptions about Allah ﴾
— [Surah Al-Ahzâb: 10]
The Muslims were besieged from all sides:
- The Confederates from the north
- Banû Qurayza from the south
- Numbers: 3,000 Muslims against 10,000 + Banû Qurayza
🦸 Heroic Acts During the Siege
'Alî ibn Abî Tâlib and 'Amr ibn Wudd
📜 Scene:
'Amr ibn Wudd crossed the trench on horseback. He was a warrior worth a thousand men.
He cried: "Is there a challenger?!"
All remained silent, awed by his stature.
'Alî رضي الله عنه stood: "I will face him, O Messenger of Allah!"
The Prophet ﷺ said: "It is 'Amr!" (warning him)
'Alî replied: "Even if it is 'Amr!"
The Prophet ﷺ gave him permission, clothed him in his armor, and gave him his sword Dhû al-Fiqâr.
The two warriors met... dust rose... then 'Alî's takbîr was heard!
'Alî killed 'Amr ibn Wudd, breaking the morale of the Confederates. This heroic duel was one of the decisive moments of the siege.

🕊️ Nu'aym ibn Mas'ûd: Intelligence and Diplomacy
The First Intelligence Operation
📜 Scene:
Nu'aym ibn Mas'ûd (from Ghatafân) came to see the Prophet ﷺ secretly:
"O Messenger of Allah, I have embraced Islam and my people do not know. Order me what you wish!"
The Prophet ﷺ said: "You are only one man. Sow discord among them as much as you can, for war is deception."

Nu'aym's Clever Plan
| Step | What He Did |
|---|---|
| 1 | Went to Banû Qurayza and made them fear Quraysh |

🌪️ The Wind and Victory
The Night of Victory
📜 Scene:
On a cold, dark night, Allah sent a fierce wind:
- It uprooted the polytheists' tents
- Extinguished their fires
- Overturned their pots
- Terrorized their hearts
Abû Sufyân shouted: "O people of Quraysh, let each check who is beside him!" (fearing spies)
Then he said: "By Allah, you are no longer in a place of residence! The hoofed and horned animals are perishing, Banû Qurayza have abandoned us. Leave, for I am leaving!"
And there he was, jumping onto his camel before even untying its tether!

Hudhayfa ibn al-Yamân the Spy
📜 Scene:

🔍 Lessons from the Battle of the Confederates
First Lesson: Creativity and Innovation
The trench idea was new to the Arabs. Islam encourages drawing means of victory from any source.

﴿ When the believers saw the Confederates, they said: "This is what Allah and His Messenger promised us, and Allah and His Messenger spoke the truth." And it only increased them in faith and submission ﴾
— [Surah Al-Ahzâb: 22]
Third Lesson: Allah Supports His Allies
The wind and the angels are Allah's soldiers, through which He supports whom He wills.
Fourth Lesson: Betrayal Has Grave Consequences
Banû Qurayza broke the treaty, and their fate will be severe.
💡 Lesson Summary
| Element | Teaching |
