📅 Cause of the Conquest: Quraysh Breaks the Treaty

﴿ Indeed, We have granted you a clear victory ﴾
[Al-Fath: 1]

In the 8th year of Hijra, Quraysh broke the Treaty of Hudaybiya by helping Banu Bakr attack Khuza'a (allies of the Muslims).

📜 Scene :

'Amr ibn Salim al-Khuza'i came to the Prophet ﷺ in Medina crying out:

"O Lord, I invoke Muhammad... by the pact of our fathers and theirs, the most ancient!"

Then he informed him of what Quraysh and Banu Bakr had done.

The Prophet ﷺ said: "You shall be helped, O 'Amr ibn Salim!"

Concealing the Destination

📜 Scene :

The Prophet ﷺ ordered preparations without revealing the destination.

He supplicated: "O Allah, take away their sight so they only see me suddenly!"

The Story of Hatib ibn Abi Balta'a

📜 Scene :

Hatib sent a secret letter to Quraysh informing them of the Prophet's ﷺ coming.

Jibril descended and informed the Prophet ﷺ!

He sent 'Ali, al-Miqdad, and al-Zubayr who caught up with the woman carrying the letter at Rawdat Khakh.

'Ali: "Hand over the letter!"
The woman: "I have no letter!"
'Ali: "You will hand over the letter or we will search your clothes!"

She pulled it out from her braids!

'Umar: "Let me strike his neck, O Messenger of Allah!"
The Prophet ﷺ: "Is he not from the people of Badr? And what do you know? Perhaps Allah looked upon the people of Badr and said: Do what you wish, for I have forgiven you!"

Abu Sufyan Sees the Army

📜 Scene :

Abu Sufyan went out to scout. Al-'Abbas ibn 'Abd al-Muttalib (the Prophet's ﷺ uncle) captured him and brought him to the Muslim camp.

The tribes paraded before him:

Abu Sufyan: "Who are these?"
Al-'Abbas: "This is Ghifar... this is Aslam... this is Sulaym..."

With each passing tribe, his amazement grew!

Until the green battalion came (the Muhajirin and Ansar) led by the Prophet ﷺ.

Abu Sufyan: "Glory be to Allah! No one can stand against these! Your nephew's kingdom has become great!"

Al-'Abbas: "Woe to you! It is prophethood!"

🕊️ Abu Sufyan's Conversion

The Historic Meeting

📜 Scene :

Abu Sufyan was brought before the Prophet ﷺ.

The Prophet ﷺ: "Is it not time for you to know that there is no god but Allah?"

Abu Sufyan: "May my father and mother be sacrificed for you! How forbearing, noble, and kind to your kin you are! As for this, yes, I have realized that if there were another god besides Allah, he would have helped me."

The Prophet ﷺ: "Is it not time for you to know that I am the Messenger of Allah?"

Abu Sufyan: (hesitating) "As for this, there is still something in my heart..."

Al-'Abbas: "Woe to you! Accept Islam before your neck is struck!"

And he accepted Islam!

The Guarantee for Abu Sufyan

The Prophet ﷺ said:

"Whoever enters the house of Abu Sufyan is safe, whoever closes his door upon himself is safe, and whoever enters the mosque is safe."

🕋 Entering Mecca

Humility at the Hour of Victory

📜 Scene :

The Prophet ﷺ entered Mecca with his head bowed in humility to Allah, until his neck nearly touched his mount.

He was reciting Surah Al-Fath: ﴿ Indeed, We have granted you a clear victory ﴾

Purifying the Ka'ba

📜 Scene :

The Prophet ﷺ entered the Sacred Mosque and made seven circuits of the House on his mount.

Around the Ka'ba stood 360 idols. He struck them with his bow as they fell, saying:

﴿ Truth has come, and falsehood has vanished. Indeed, falsehood is bound to vanish ﴾

Then he entered the Ka'ba and prayed two rak'at.

"Go, You Are the Freed Ones"

📜 Scene :

The Prophet ﷺ stood at the door of the Ka'ba, with Quraysh below awaiting their fate.

He said: "O people of Quraysh, what do you think I will do with you?"

They replied: "Good. You are a noble brother and the son of a noble brother."

He said: "Go, you are the Freed Ones (at-Tulaqa')!"

Then he said: "There is no god but Allah alone. He fulfilled His promise, gave victory to His servant, and defeated the Confederates alone."

📋 The Conversion of Quraysh

The Pledge

📜 Scene :

The Prophet ﷺ sat at Safa to receive the people's pledge.

The men came and pledged allegiance to Islam.
Then the women came and pledged allegiance.

Among them was Hind bint 'Utba, disguised out of fear.

When the Prophet ﷺ recognized her, he said: "And Hind?"

She said: "Forgive the past, may Allah forgive you!"

He smiled ﷺ.

🔍 Lessons from the Conquest of Mecca

First Lesson: Forgiveness When in Power

The greatest victory is victory over oneself through forgiveness.

Second Lesson: Humility in Victory

Despite this immense conquest, the Prophet ﷺ entered humble and submissive.

Third Lesson: No Revenge in Islam

"No blame on you today. May Allah forgive you."

Fourth Lesson: Allah's Promise is True

﴿ Indeed, He who ordained the Quran upon you will return you to a place of return ﴾
[Al-Qasas: 85]

The Prophet ﷺ returned to Mecca victorious after 8 years of exile.
