The Decision to Withdraw

"What do you think?"
He said: "A fox in its burrow. If you stay, you'll get it. If you leave it, it won't harm you."
The Prophet ﷺ decided to lift the siege.
Some Companions said: "O Messenger of Allah, supplicate against Thaqif!"
He said ﷺ: "O Allah, guide Thaqif and bring them!"

The Ansar's Displeasure

The Speech That Brought Tears
📜 Scene :
The Prophet ﷺ said:
"O assembly of the Ansar, did I not find you astray and Allah guided you through me? Were you not divided and Allah united you through me? Were you not poor and Allah enriched you through me?"
With each question, they answered: "Allah and His Messenger are more gracious!"
He said: "Are you not pleased that the people leave with the sheep and camels, while you return with the Messenger of Allah to your homes?"
He said: "If the people took one valley and the Ansar took another valley, I would take the valley of the Ansar!"
He said: "The Ansar are the inner garment, and the people are the outer garment!"
He said: "O Allah, have mercy on the Ansar, the children of the Ansar, and the children of the children of the Ansar!"
The Ansar wept until their beards were wet!
They said: "We are satisfied with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ as our share and destiny!"

🔓 Freeing the Prisoners
The Hawazin Prisoners
📜 Scene :
A delegation from Hawazin came, having accepted Islam, to request their prisoners.
Among them was al-Shayma' bint Halima (the Prophet's ﷺ foster sister).
When the Prophet ﷺ saw her, he spread his cloak for her, seated her upon it, and said:
"If you wish, you can stay with me, loved and honored. If you prefer that I give you provisions and you return to your people, I will do so."
She said: "Give me provisions and send me back to my people."

Complete Pardon
The Prophet ﷺ freed all 6,000 prisoners in honor of his foster sister!
