The Quran as Source

📖 The Quran — The Primary Source of Legislation

﴿ And We have sent down to you the Book as clarification for all things and as guidance and mercy and good tidings for the Muslims ﴾

[An-Nahl: 89]

📖 Introduction

📜 Scene: The Night of Decree

The Cave of Hira, a night in Ramadan...

Muhammad ﷺ was worshipping in the cave as was his habit...

Suddenly, Jibril (Gabriel) appeared to him and said:

"Read!"

Muhammad ﷺ replied: "I cannot read."

Jibril squeezed him tightly, then released him and said:

"Read!"

— Three times...

Then Jibril said:

﴿ Read in the name of your Lord who created ۝ Created man from a clinging substance ﴾

🎯 Thus began the revelation of the Quran — Allah's Word to humanity!

📜 Scene: The Weight of Revelation

Aisha — may Allah be pleased with her — reported:

"I saw the Prophet ﷺ receiving revelation on a very cold day, and when it departed from him, his forehead would drip with sweat."

[Al-Bukhari and Muslim]

The Quran is not ordinary speech — it is the Word of the Lord of the Worlds!
