He is the Defender of the Sunna, the founder of the science of Usul al-Fiqh (Principles of Jurisprudence), and the genius who united the fiqh of Hijaz and Iraq. He was born the year Abu Hanifa died (150 H), and died young at only 54 years, but he left an eternal legacy in Islamic thought.
